As you'll know if you've watched The True Cost on Netflix; many high street brands produce their clothes in factories in countries such as Bangladesh. These countries pay their workers little; in unsafe and cruel conditions, in order to allow these stores to sell their clothes at lower, lower, and even lower prices. These clothes don't degrade well and end up piling up in our landfill; alongside plastics that can't be recycled such as toothbrushes and food packaging. There seems to be an era of disposability; and this is incredibly damaging to the planet and is a huge predictor of climate change. Changing lifestyle habits is really vital towards reducing this impact, and so begins my journey to a more minimal and simple life.

When I first started my minimalism journey, I started watching various minimalism youtubers and so I thought I'd share some of my favourites with you today. Enjoy!Janell Kristina is a mega cutie, I love her tattoos and her room is full of plants which I absolutely A.D.O.R.E. I've never watched someone who's so honest about their journey and this is just one of the reasons I enjoy her content.
As a videographer, Matt D'Avella's content is absolutely incredible. He's realistic, humorous and I love wondering what he's going to come up with next. He also has a few podcasts too, which are ideal for the daily commute!
Meghan Livingstone is the one I go to when I'm feeling lacklustre. Whether I'm feeling cluttered or disorganized, she's bound to have a video that's just perfect for resolving the problem. Her style is mega cute and simple and I just can't get enough!
Please do share your favourite youtubers for some sustainable watching in the comments box!

ReplyDeleteI honestly don't really watch Youtube a lot but I have been trying to lower my carbon footprint recently. I'm really interested in learning to be more sustainable so I'm definitely going to bookmark this post to watch the videos with my partner as we're both determined to be much more kind to earth this year! I've definitely cut down on my spending habits in general, I used to be so wasteful and disposable with clothing but I refuse to buy things unless I'm 100% in love with them now and it's honestly done my bank balance wonders haha! Great post, we should definitely be talking more about sustainability :)

ReplyDeleteVery cool and right up my alley, being a world traveler and unintended minimalist. I live this way because it makes sense for someone who changes time zones so much.
