Finding My Fit in the Blogging World

One thing that I've really been struggling with recently, is 'finding my fit', if you like, in the blogging world. I think we have such a great community, yet I do often feel pressure to fit into a particular category or 'niche', so that I can sum my content up quickly and engage those who might be interested. Whilst this is a fantastic [and often necessary] way of branding ourselves, it also presents itself as a nightmare for those like me, who, are in the middle of an ongoing 'who am i?!' existential crisis.

I have so many hobbies and enjoy so many things, that quite frankly, I can't see myself fitting into one category. I love mental health and talking about mindfulness and positivity, yet I also love fashion, sustainability and ethical shopping. I also really enjoy being minimal [which in many ways can contradict fashion shopping], books and the list goes on.

After a fair deal of soul searching I can find myself getting so much closer to the content that I want to produce, yet it also feels so limiting to limit my blog to those things and those things only. Equally though, I'd imagine there's very few people who want to read content on all of those different topics, meaning that my readers will only like some of my posts [which is absolutely not what I want!]

Sometimes the best thing to do in these times is to suck it up and see how it goes - which is exactly what I'm planning right now. I have so many posts that I'm really looking forward to creating, and I really hope that you like them as much as I do [and hopefully this will help me get a lil more direction!]. Out of interest, please do let me know what types of content you enjoy reading most in the comments box below!

  1. This was suchhh a good read. I get caught up in my 'place' in the blogging world so much. But the best thing is o just do your own things and find your own muse with it all! xx

  2. This is so relatable. It took me some time to figure out what I wanted to blog about and what content I wanted to produce. I am still asking myself questions sometimes!

  4. I really enjoyed this post. There's so much talk in blogging circles about narrowing your niche that it makes it feel like you can't be an eclectic blogger. Every blogger's journey is different, though, so sometimes the best option is to just pick a direction and go. You can always course correct later if need be. Thanks for sharing.

  5. Hey, I am finding this hard too. I'm just getting my blog off the ground really, so I am finding myself writing about topics that just pop into my head. But then I guess, at least I am being true to myself and I'll realise soon what content people enjoy most. I'll definitely be keeping up to date with your blog now I have discovered you!

  6. I totally understand what you mean about finding your spot. I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing this😊When I first started by blogging, I was focused on putting myself into a specific category because I thought that's what I was supposed to do. I wanted to focus on fashion but I noticed my inspirational posts we're gaining more attention yet I like to write about my foodie adventures. I realized calling myself a lifestyle writer sums up all the different things I like to talk about on my blog. Thanks for sharing your experience 😁

  7. I might be the odd one out in the blogging world but despite all the pressure to niche down I have resisted, While I don't blog about everything I do keep it pretty open and so far I don't believe it has hindered my ability to grow. I just really want to explore and share the things I love without feeling like one particular topic is the only thing I can share! I really hope you find your blogging you!

  8. I have used a lot of juicers in the past and I created this blog to help juice lovers make the right decision in choosing the type of juicer that best fit their needs. There are several good masticating juicers to choose from.  Blogging
