Lets Pour Some Tea, and Discuss the Tea in My Life | Feat. Femme Luxe

Hi everybody! How are you all?! I hope you’re all doing really well. I’m hitting you with a brand new lifestyle/chatter post today as, well, my life has gone from 0 to 80 miles per hour in the last couple of months. Now we’re in October, things seem to be calming down slightly and adapting to my routine. But heck, they always said that the real work started after University and I couldn’t agree more! Since graduating back in July, I’ve spoken quite a lot on social media and on my blog about why its’s so important to look after your mental health at University. But, its’ still important to look after your mental health once you’ve graduated, or even if you didn’t go to University. Therefore, I’m really enjoying reflecting on my life and seeing where there is room for improvement.

So, are you ready to spill the tea?

Adapting to Life as a Psychology Graduate

Life seems to be going really well for me at the minute. It has it’s ups and downs – things I do enjoy and things I don’t enjoy, but I’m really happy to be where I am right now. I’m currently really enjoying blogging more often and spending time with friends, and up until recently I’ve been working part-time. I’ve been reading ‘The Multi-Hyphen Method’ by Emma Gannon and I’m absolutely loving it. I’d consider myself already to have “multiple hyphens”, i.e. multiple strings of income, as she’d say, but didn’t even realise that this was a thing until I read this book. I suddenly feel a lot more normal and completely understand the struggles with explaining what I do. What’s incredible is that I’ve been nominated for the ‘Blogger of the Year’ Birmingham Awards! I’m absolutely over the moon, this is the first time that I’ve ever been nominated for a blog award and I am chuffed that someone likes my hard work (so if it’s you, thank you!!). I didn’t get shortlisted, but it’s still an achievement that I’m really proud of.

I’ve also continued working part time at Accessorize until recently and I have to say, I absolutely love it. As the staff know that I write a blog, I volunteered to photograph the Accessorize x Brum Bloggers event recently and it was such a fantastic opportunity. I absolutely loved the event, spending time with my blogger friends and meeting so many new wonderful pieces. I have a few winter/christmas blogging events lined up soon and to say I’m excited is a complete understatement!

Preparing For Christmas

Chloe Elizabeth

I’m also trying to prepare for Christmas a little behind the scenes. It’s the most hectic time of year and I do find it really difficult to deal with the stress of it all. Therefore, I’ve been trying to purchase some Christmas presents in advance (as you may notice that everything is ridiculously overpriced come December), making the most of charity shops, D.I.Y projects and sales. This way, it keeps the cost down, but I also try to make sure that I really think about what I’m buying and pick up something personal and cute for each person.

Taking Time Out

It’s also vital that we all take the time out from whatever it is that we’re doing to relax, and enjoy the days that we have. We never know when our lives are going to change and so we need to make an effort to just chill. I’m generally focused on my goals and so I do find it really difficult to take the time to relax, but this is something that I’ve focused on more and more since graduating. If I’ve had a hard day at work, I’ll move my to-do list over to the next day and just relax and watch some Arrested Development for the evening. Listen to your body, and your body will love you for it.

* I was kindly sent some products from Femme Luxe which were included in this post, though all content remains my own.

The red wrap jumper is so cute. I’ve never been to university but I totally agree that we should look after ourselves and our mental health. Mine hasn’t been brilliant lately and I have been talking tommy friend about it. It’s nice to have someone to talk to when I need it.
Congratulations for being nominated for the blogger awards. That’s amazing and you deserve it. I love visiting your blog and can see why you were nominated 💕
I need to start my Christmas shopping soon especially while some of the sales are still on. Its the best time to get gifts and I have a few to get this year.

I’m living to have that red sweater. It’s too adorable. 💖 Awesome job being nominated for blogger of the year. And you are so smart to start xmas shopping early. I say I’m going to start early every year and I don’t. Lol.

Loving the jumpers and the quality of your photos are getting better and better. Love how this post is relate-able. Life after University is definitely a big switch to all students as working in the real world requires not just double the dedication you put at Uni but 10x more. However if you did not go to University and started working straight away the leap from school and work is also not easy. Working in the real world maybe daunting but if you are focused, determined and patient you will be able to either go with the flow or stand out from the crowd.

Great post. I am such a fan of yours. Keep it up and keep inspiring others.

That’s true; it’s hard work whatever route you decide to take, but hard work gets you through it. Thank you! <3

I agree with you – it’s important to look after your mental health when you’re in uni. One slip can cause a lot of problems down the road. You’ve been hustling! Keep it up with the grind, girl! Congratulations on being nominated for blogger of the year!

YaaaaaSSS! Christmas is just around the corner. It’s good that you’re taking care of yourself ♥

Congratulations on being nominated! It’s a huge achievement in itself, regardless of shortlists and the rest of it!:D I also love that khaki off the shoulder jumper! Not that I need any more jumpers haha! We’re planning our Christmas shopping now, but we’ll probably start after Halloween is sorted and it’s not so hectic with people grabbing sweets and Halloween decor haha x
